“When’s the best time to visit London?” is one of the questions we get asked most, and the honest answer is: it depends what you’re after. Each season has a genuinely different personality here, and Shepherd’s Bush — two minutes from Westfield and the Central Line — works well as a base whatever time of year you land.
Spring (March–May)
This is the season locals quietly prefer. The parks come alive — Holland Park and Kew are both an easy trip from Shepherd’s Bush — and the city feels less crowded than summer without the winter chill. Pack layers; London spring weather has a sense of humour.
Summer (June–August)
Long days, outdoor markets in full swing, and Shepherd’s Bush Green makes a genuinely good spot for an evening outside. This is peak season for a reason, so if you’re coming in July or August, book your dates early — our apartments fill up fastest for summer stays.
Autumn (September–November)
Our personal favourite. The crowds thin out, the light turns gold over the rooftops, and you get proper “London in a coat” weather without the January cold. Westfield’s restaurant scene comes into its own on a grey afternoon.
Winter (December–February)
Christmas lights, mulled wine, and a city that genuinely does festive well. Central London’s decorations are a short tube ride away, and coming back to a warm, quiet apartment in Shepherd’s Bush after a day in the cold is one of the underrated pleasures of staying somewhere residential rather than in a city-centre hotel.
Our take
There isn’t really a wrong time — London works in every season, and our location means you’re never more than 20 minutes from the centre regardless of weather. What we’d say: shoulder seasons (spring and autumn) give you the best mix of good weather, thinner crowds, and easier availability. Peak summer and Christmas week book up fast, both across London and with us.
